IP Address Lookup
Free online IP address lookup. Find the geographic location, ISP, timezone and coordinates of any IP address. Works with IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
Detecting… ⚠️ IP geolocation is approximate (city-level accuracy, ±50 km typical). VPNs may show the VPN server location.
What Is IP Geolocation?
IP geolocation is the process of mapping an IP address to a geographic location. When you connect to the internet, your ISP assigns you an IP address that can be traced back to a general area. This tool uses that information to display the approximate location, internet service provider, and network details for any IP address you enter.
What Information Does This Tool Show?
For each IP address, you can see the city and region, country with flag, ISP and organization name, autonomous system number (ASN), timezone, local currency, and geographic coordinates. The interactive map shows the approximate location with a marker that you can zoom and pan.
Accuracy and Limitations
IP geolocation is inherently approximate. Consumer broadband IPs are typically accurate to the city level, within 25–50 km. Mobile IPs may show the ISP's central office rather than your actual location. VPNs and proxy servers will show the VPN server's location instead of your real one. Corporate networks may route through headquarters. For precise location, GPS is required.
Common Uses
Developers use IP lookup to debug geographic routing issues, verify CDN performance, or check which server region users are connecting from. Security professionals use it to investigate suspicious login attempts. Content creators use it to understand their audience's geographic distribution.
